چکیده

Abstract Cancer prevention and treatment are currently the focus of most research. Dose verification is an important step for reducing improper dose deposition during radiotherapy. To mend traditional gel dosimeters 3D verification, a novel rare-earth nanoparticle-based composite was prepared, which has good radioluminescence property reusability. It promising phantom material new dosimeter. TEM, DLS, FT-IR, TGA, spectrofluorometer were used to determine chemical structure, micromorphology, optical performance. Compared dosimeters, linear relationship between light intensity excited by X-ray tube current. Furthermore, it may measure distribution immediately in situ , reduces errors saves time. This work provides idea research promotes safe effective use

Sol-Gel Fabrication of Rare-Earth Doped Photonic Components

The use of sol-gel to fabricate silica-on-silicon waveguides, and particularly erbium-doped waveguide amplifiers, is reviewed. In particular, efforts to use sol-gel to improve molecular homogeneity in heavily Er-doped silica-based films is discussed. A variety of material studies carried out to investigate the gain limitations found in these materials is then presented. These include x-ray diff...

Sol-gel derived ionic copper-doped microstructured optical fiber: a potential selective ultraviolet radiation dosimeter.

We report the fabrication and characterization of a photonic crystal fiber (PCF) having a sol-gel core doped with ionic copper. Optical measurements demonstrate that the ionic copper is preserved in the silica glass all along the preparation steps up to fiber drawing. The photoluminescence results clearly show that such an ionic copper-doped fiber constitutes a potential candidate for UV-C (200...

Rare earth-doped glass microbarcodes.

The development of ultraminiaturized identification tags has applications in fields ranging from advanced biotechnology to security. This paper describes micrometer-sized glass barcodes containing a pattern of different fluorescent materials that are easily identified by using a UV lamp and an optical microscope. A model DNA hybridization assay using these "microbarcodes" is described. Rare ear...

Rare-Earth Doped Optical Fibers

An optical fiber becomes active by doping its core with one or more atomic elements, usually (but not restricted to) rare-earths (RE’s), more specifically, the lanthanides that occupy the atomic numbers 57 to 71 of the periodic table. As it will be mentioned later in more detail, they use three electrons in bonding to the condensed materials such as crystals and glasses to become triply ionized...

Investigations on BeO as a dosimeter material for hadron therapy

Hadron cancer-therapy with high-energetic heavy-ions (HI) as available at the SIS facility at GSI Darmstadt [1] as well as the research with beams stopped in biological material as realized at the UNILAC at GSI in general require the precise knowledge of the applied dose within less than 1% in most cases. Solid state detectors based on various materials read out via thermally stimulated light e...
